Hi friends! Welcome back to Your Weekly Dose of TLC! I will be focusing on 3 good things each week in a single post and everything Teacher-Life-Coach is all about:
T: The teacher in me…
L: Life hacks, good finds, and general fun
C: Motivation and inspiration
So with that, let’s get started!
T – To Plan or Not to Plan
The teacher in me likes to plan (probably because I have had to do so much of it throughout my career). But, I struggle with deciding what type of planner to get each year.
Some days I want an actual planner – one that’s already put together for me. This year, I bought five. Yes, you read that correctly – five. I just couldn’t decide on one single format. Which planner (if any) I will actually use remains a mystery.
Some days I want to simply use a binder with planner pages I can print out as needed. I have created many different versions of planner pages – all very useful – that can be printed, hole punched, and inserted into a binder of my choice. This option is still on the table for me.
Some days I think I want to try digital planners. But, that thought passes quickly. I definitely need to write things down.
I want to hear from you! What type of planner (if any) do you prefer? Real, bound planners (there are so many cute designs out there) OR do you use printable pages that are designed to fit your needs?
L – A Tasty De–Lyte
Today I wanted to share a good find with you, something I found last year and have loved ever since: electrolyte drink packets.
First, my little disclaimer: I am not paid/commissioned/etc. by Dr. Berg, so this comes as a completely honest review – plus I never suggest and/or review anything I haven’t personally used or tried.
During the summer I go for a daily 2+ mile morning walk and this summer has been nothing less than [what feels like] 1000% humidity on those walks. I drink water. I am an avid water drinker, and I always have at least 2 full water tumblers going at once (and if you have ever seen me walk into work, you know). I drink 70+ ounces a day, but sometimes that’s not enough.
Last year, I had read a lot about hydrating with salt, specifically Himalayan salt. It’s good to do, especially in the morning and I was looking for ways to do more of this. But, I was also on the lookout for something that didn’t have a high sodium content. That wasn’t easy.
So, when I stumbled upon Dr. Berg’s electrolyte powders, they were promising – a nice amount of potassium and magnesium (great for keeping my headaches away), low sodium, AND they taste really good (not too strong – trust me I am picky with my tastes).
If you’re on the hydration hunt like I was, I 100% recommend trying these. The packets are pre-measured and easy for on the go. I am including my Amazon link if you are interested in checking them out for yourself: https://amzn.to/3yD67oh

C – Just Dump It
Let’s finish out our weekly TLC at the dump – the Brain Dump. This is an excellent way to start the week off strong!
Have you ever spilled your purse contents out onto the table and thought, “Where did all of that come from?” Or…have you ever taken EVERYTHING out of a closet so that you could put it all back in, hopefully more organized? Yes and yes. Well, your brain needs that too.
We don’t often think about it, but the amount of clutter we carry in our thoughts could fill a bag or two or three. That’s why it is super important, and healthy, to do a little “brain dump” here and there.
Over thinking. Negative thoughts. Worries. To-do lists. Regrets. Fears. Musts. Should haves. Could haves. Procrastinations. The list goes on and on…and guess what? Every single one of those things takes up space in your head. With all of that swirling around up there, who has room for the good thoughts?
With this simple idea, we can free up some of that beautiful brain space so you have more room; room for happy thoughts, room for peace, room for serenity. We are going to do a brain dump.
A brain dump is quite simple, and you can do it one of two ways:
1. Find a piece of paper, find a quiet spot, and write down all the nagging thoughts in your mind. Dump it. Let it ALL out. Then – here’s the best part – crumble that paper up and toss it right into the garbage. Literally dump it.
2. Get everything for the week (and/or beyond) down on paper and put it someplace for future reference.
And, if you enjoy a more organized look, click on my pdf below for two free printable versions.
Sending you good vibes for a fabulous week!
