Thank you for joining me in Part 2 of our Daily Intentions series. In case you missed Part 1 (The Why – Why we should set daily intentions to help us grow and become our best selves), you can check it out here: https://teacherlifecoach.com/2024/03/06/setting-daily-intentions-the-why/
Today we are going to look at a simple way to help us set daily intentions and continue on our personal growth journey – create a ‘To BE’ list!
Let’s start with the following thought – Today I intend to BE… and then ask ourselves the following questions to help frame those thoughts:
- How do you want to react to situations?
Do you want to react to situations in a calm manner? Try this intention:
Today I intend to be calm when faced with challenges at work. - What do you want to focus on throughout the day?
Maybe you want to focus on gratitude, so your intention could sound something like this:
Today I intend to be grateful for all I have in my life. - What type of energy are you bringing to yourself and others? How do you want to feel?
Are you looking to feel happy? Energized? Kind? An intention could be the following:
Today I intend to be kind to myself and others. - What do you want to accomplish?
Maybe you are hoping to check something big off your to-do list. Maybe you are just looking to feel accomplished by completing one tiny task. Either way, identify what you want to get out of your day. Two examples:
Today I intend to be productive and finish my project at work.
Today I intend to be organized and meal plan for the week.
Now if you are anything like me, writing/journaling these daily intentions give you a more tangible focus. In addition, sometimes putting thoughts and ideas into writing gives you that extra motivation to make it happen. So, with that in mind…I’ve got you. Hopefully, one (or all) of these suggestions will be helpful in finding ways to set daily intentions. As with anything, creating a new [positive] habit takes time but in the end, it will be totally worth it.
Join me next week as we begin our two-part series on how changing our mindset can help us live our best lives.
Sending all the good vibes…
