Mindful Moments, Self-Care, This & That

It Snowed Last Night

“Everything is sparkling with diamond light.” – Meaghan Smith

Happy Tuesday! Let me start by saying that even though we are past the holidays, I still love wintry songs this time of year.

Now, what I never used to love is the actual snow part…like not at all. And while I can’t say I have grown to ‘love’ snow, I am able to tolerate it so much more. What has changed? I have decided to become more present in the moment these days, and I have started embracing where I am.

So, for today’s snow day off – instead of dreaming of summer days and wishing the white stuff away – I decided to just be. I played in the snow with the dog and FaceTimed with my mom. I took pictures of the snowy landscape. I did yoga in my living room. I even baked homemade blueberry muffins.

And that brings me to my purpose for writing. What if we just took a little time to be present? What if we closed some of our proverbial [brain] tabs and left just one open? What if we welcomed the present moment simply as it is?

My challenge for you is this: Take even a small amount of time today, tomorrow, or the next to just be – exactly where you are.

Sending you all the good [snowy] vibes…
~S~
