This & That

Live a Life You Love

Hi friends! Happy New Year! I know it’s been more than a minute since I have last jumped on here. Life gets so busy (I feel like I say that a lot), and before you know it a lot of time has passed. But, it’s a goal for the new year to write and post more, both for myself and others because – well, every now and then we can all us a little TLC.

So, again, welcome to 2024! I know so many of us like to use the new year as a reset. We leave behind the habits/thoughts/feelings that no longer serve us. We look ahead with hope and optimism. We write resolutions and set goals, all with the best intentions. I walked into January 1st with these exact thoughts.

And then I got stressed.

There, I said it. I was stressed thinking about resolutions (I gave them up years ago because even with the best intentions, I felt like a failure if I didn’t follow through). I was stressed thinking about my ‘ONE WORD’ for the new year, because I couldn’t choose just one. I was stressed thinking about trying to adopt new habits right away because some of my old ones were still working.

And then I relaxed.

I started to realize that I didn’t NEED a resolution. I didn’t NEED to choose ONE word. I didn’t NEED new habits (not yet, anyway). All I NEED is to live a life I love.

And that’s where I am at this moment. My MOTTO for moving into 2024 is this:

Live a life you love.

If that means choosing MULTIPLE words to guide me through the year, then that’s what I will do. If that means keeping the old habits that work while choosing new ones in time, then that’s what I will do. If that means setting goals, no matter how small, then that’s what I will do. As long as what I choose to do each day, week, or month helps me ‘LIVE A LIFE I LOVE’ then that’s what I will do.

So, I ask you my reader friends – how are you walking into the new year? Are you setting goals, writing resolutions, choosing one word, or creating a motto? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Sending all the good vibes…
~S~
