Come Monday…

…it’ll be alright. Says the famous Jimmy Buffett.

Full disclosure: I’m a parrothead. I love Jimmy Buffett and have loved Jimmy Buffett for as long as I can remember. His music, his sense of humor, and his state of mind have helped me navigate through life many times. And so, it goes without saying that I find myself (quite) often singing his song as the weekend winds down.

So, with all that being said, hello Monday. We meet again. Yay! (And I mean that wholeheartedly.)

Now I know Monday can be tough, and it gets a ‘bad rap’ more often than not. It signals the transition from play to work/school. It forces us back into a routine. It can (scientifically speaking – there was as study done) affect our health. No wonder Monday isn’t on everyone’s list of favorites.

But…

Monday is a state of mind. We have the choice to make it a good day, and we have the choice to make it a not-so-good day…which can help set the tone for the week. Knowing all that, let’s make Monday work FOR us, not against us.

Needing some motivation to get you into that mindset? Know this:

Yes, the week IS yours. Set a new goal. Plan for fun. Practice kindness. Take a break when needed. Reflect. Practice gratitude. Take pride in all you accomplish, big and small.

And with that, I am off to own my day and listen to some Buffett.
