I have been thinking a lot about burnout lately (another post specifically on that later) because I am seeing it in so many different ways with myself and others. Now I know, personally, when my life is feeling off or I am feeling the burnout it is because I am tipping too much one way or the other…which got me thinking about yoga…which got me thinking about balance. Do you see how my mind works?
It has been a while since I have written a three-part talk about a topic, but I thought this would be a good one to explore for a while. I mean, let’s face it – we could all use a little balance in our lives. We care deeply…we strive to do our best every day…we never want to disappoint ourselves or others…and as a result we tend to overextend and lose the balance we so desperately need. However, in order to be our best selves, we must find that balance because sometimes too much of a good thing isn’t really all that good.
To start us off, we must first remember that balance comes from within. Only we can achieve it for ourselves. In the words of Jana Kingsford, “Balance is not something you find, it is something you create.” Over the next few posts we will be examining ways to establish or bring back a little bit of balance to our lives.
Until then, sending you good vibes…
