Do you ever feel a little worried or stressed or anxious? Mmmhmmm, that’s what I thought.
Well, I have some good news for you – all is not lost when you’re feeling that way because you have the ability to create your own calm. Repeat after me: I CAN CREATE MY OWN CALM. Ahh, such a powerful mantra/affirmation.
Now, if you are looking for some helpful suggestions for this, look no further. I have 30 ways to find some inner peace, tranquility, calm…or whatever term sounds the best to you.
Try one, two, ten, or ALL of these. Some may work for you, some may not…and that’s totally okay. Not every act works for every situation, so hopefully you will find something that best fits your needs!
Breathe slowly and deeply.
Listen to music.
Observe nature.
Call a friend.
Lay down with your eyes closed.
Visualize your happy place.
Look at photos that make you smile.
Doodle.
Write in a journal.
Enjoy a cup of tea (or something you love).
Take a walk.
Watch something funny.
Dance.
Do (or try) yoga.
Accept the distress.
Do a brain dump and write it all down.
Stretch.
Do something nice for someone else.
Practice gratitude.
Walk barefoot (preferably in grass).
Engage your brain with a puzzle.
Try a guided meditation or mindfulness strategy.
Get creative.
Pick up a book and read for a few.
Fold yourself up in a blanket hug.
Yell…let it all out.
Use aromatherapy and find a calming scent.
Spend time with a fur buddy.
Listen to moving water like a brook or waves.
Count to 10. It seems basic, but it works.
