Two Glows and a Grow

Hey, it’s me! It has been a while since I last posted because, well, life kind of got a little busy. I got married Thanksgiving weekend, the winter holidays came charging along, and then work became all sorts of crazy. But, I knew I had to find time to write because I needed it and I thought you might need it, too.

Friday was the official end of the second marking period, and I should be working on report card comments (I am, I am – just taking a little break). Whenever I write my comments, I try to focus on two GLOWs (areas of strength, where the students shine) and one GROW (a goal to work on). And so, this got me thinking… What if we, as adults, took on that same mentality? What if we celebrated our GLOWs and put our GROWs into action?

This can be done any day of the week, any week of the month, any month of the year. All you need is a few minutes to sit down and reflect (and maybe something for jotting down your ideas). Your self-talk can look something like this:
