Hey friends, say hello to Wellness Wednesday…
Now, I never used to think much about Wednesday because it was always just “the middle of the week.” Lately, though, I have switched my perspective and I now see it as a good chance to check in – a chance to see how the week is going so far (what have I accomplished, how do I feel) and a chance to turn the remainder of the week around if needed (what changes do I have to make to meet my goals).
As I was doing some tidying up, the quote below popped into my mind. It’s one I have always loved, and I think it was the part about piles that reminded me – I mean what teacher doesn’t have piles of something this time of year? BUT, there is one pile we should keep adding to and that’s our pile of the good stuff.
Feeling defeated? Focus on those small victories, the little joys…
Feeling overwhelmed? Focus on the things you can accomplish (or at least start) in a minute…
Feeling underwhelmed? Focus on the ordinary…
Embrace the fact that we don’t have to DO everything, we don’t have to BE everything, and we don’t always have to think big. We can, in fact, focus on the small and the ordinary. You know, the good things.
