What would you do if you had a chance to change or do something over?
Maelyn Jones, the main character in Christina Lauren’s latest book, In a Holidaze, is faced with that question…and not by choice. She finds herself in a time loop, experiencing the same week of the Christmas holiday multiple times. (Think Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, but insert the fun of the season and a much more enjoyable main character – not that I dislike Billy Murray, but he was a little prickly.)
Now…I must admit that time loop/travel books and movies always confuse me a little because my analytical mind always tries to make sense of things. I had to put that all aside with this one and let myself simply enjoy the book for what it was – a quest (and request to the Universe) to see what makes us happy.
But the question remains: How good is seeing what makes us happy if we never do anything about it?
