Loving-Kindness Meditation

Truth: the world can be tough. Sometimes we all need a little compassion, whether we are giving it to ourselves or giving it to others. When we put some love and kindness out into the universe, we raise the vibrations a little higher and seriously, it is all about those good vibes.

So, today I wanted to share a quick meditation you can do to help develop compassion for whoever may need it.

But, first…let me explain a little bit about meditation. A lot of people shy away from it because they think it’s silly or they don’t think they can concentrate long enough to participate in it or they have some other reason for not wanting to give it a try. I will admit, when I was first introduced to it I had those same exact thoughts. And then after giving it a chance, I realized how wrong I really was.

You see, meditation doesn’t have to take long. You don’t have to spend a full 30 minutes each day – because who has THAT extra time, right?! BUT…often times when we get into that mindset, well…that is when we need it the most. Basically, what I am saying is meditation can simply be a few minutes out of your day to be mindful, in the moment, and far away from your worry and stress. Now, doesn’t that sound nice??

With all that in mind, I bring you this loving-kindness meditation. Repeat it softly out loud, or in your head, for yourself and then for someone you feel could use a little love and kindness in their lives.
