If you joined me last week with the start of our journaling journey, I hope you were able to find some joy in the process. If you still have a few topics left from our first list, that is perfectly a-okay! As with anything related to self-care, it should always be about what works best and feels best for YOU.
Now, let’s get right to it this week…
I want to take a second to talk about one of this week’s topics: How does kindness play a role in your life?
Kindness can look like many different things to many different people. I, for one, strive to make kindness my classroom “thing” every year because I want my students to realize that EVERYONE has the ability to be kind.
When I think about the role it plays in MY life, I think about my personal cheering section, aka my family, friends, and feel-good acquaintances. Sometimes they may be SUPER loud – rooting for me, encouraging me with words, lending me helping hand…AND…sometimes they may be quieter – offering me a safe space, a silent prayer, fighting the good fight in my name.
When I think again about the role it plays in my life, I think about being someone else’s cheering section as well. I think about softening when needed. I’m not quick to comment, but I listen instead. I greet others with a loving smile, no matter what happened the day before. I also think about being front and center when needed, too – I’m a pretty loud cheerleader.
So, what role does kindness play? It’s everything…and I’m grateful every day to give it and be on the receiving end of it.
With that, here is this week’s set of journal topics:
