I have always loved the word “light.” To me, it evokes a feeling of optimism and happiness and feel-good vibes. It reminds me of sunshine and warmth. Sometimes we are the light for others and sometimes we are the light for ourselves.
I saw this quote (below) once and it made me think about my “spark” and what lights me up inside. There are so many things I do on a regular basis that I never used to give much thought to, but then I started to see them differently. They were things that, in a sense, made me feel that light from within. I started to realize that when these things were in my routine, the days definitely felt a little brighter.

We might start to wonder what this has to do with self-care. Well, we know that self-care is about making ourselves and our well-being a priority…and what better way to do that than to acknowledge all the things that make us feel happiness, joy, and fully alive.
So, I ask…what lights you up?
Let’s take a moment to think about the following questions:
| What brings you joy? What is something in your life that makes you feel excited, energized, abundant, healthy, and glowing? |
| What is something you love to do? Think of something that makes you lose track of time when you’re doing it. |
Those things you just thought of…they are YOUR LIGHT! But, how do you know? You know because you are just IN IT. You feel amazing. You are happy, and you feel ALL the good vibes.
Now, maybe you are a little uncertain on how to find your light. Well, it comes down to four basic ideas:
- Let it be simple.
- Follow your bliss.
- Prioritize feeling good each and every day.
- Know you deserve it simply because you do!
Next time, we will dig a little deeper into these ideas and ways we can ignite that spark and enjoy all the light this amazing life has to offer!
Until then, keep shining…
